@#&%^E#*&^#*&*#

Sorry for the profnatiy!~

So Blengine and ENV have just wokred thier butts off for me, as you can see in the WIP section, But dammit! The textures are sooogood, and the modeling soooo good, that My computer (2ghz, 256mb ram) cant render it! I am shit out of luck.

Ideas?

Take too long to render? If so find someone who can render it in the background for you on thier machine, you will just have to move everything over.

not tha it takes too long, i am patiernt

it just wont render

blender crashes

oh,
Is it an OS thing, it crashes for you in Windows, Linux or Mac OS ?
I know trying different OS is a pain for such a arg projects. But if you have it all burn on a CD rom then moving to different OSes to see if it renders might help.
just my 2 cents

Did you try render in parts? (Xparts/Yparts)

It’s strange, Matt. You have a 2ghz, 256mb ram system and it crashes… my system is only a 800 Mhz and 384mb ram, and after the very looooong time rendering of the first render (because it must load the textures that are very big) it goes fast and never crashed.
I textured Anaix in version 2.23; may this be a problem (but I don’t think so)?

Env

I assume you have already tried the command line.

If one system is 256Megs and the other 384Megs and the first crashes and the second doesn’t then it is clearly a ram problem.

Pumping up swap file (on windows) and enlarging swap partition (on linux) might work, at the cost of long waits and disk stress.

I have 1Gig, if you need render write a PM

Stefano

if it’s a ram problem, your solution is to render by PART X and Y so it will render smaller pic that have less polygone in them…so no need of that much ram!
