Hi there, one thing that jumps out at me is the highlights have little squares. This is because smooth shading is not enabled.

Select your object and click the “smooth” button in your “object tools” on the left side of your 3D view. If there is no vertical tool bar, press “t” to hide/unhide it.

Then maybe look into using a mask so only the oceans have the highlights, check out this tutorial/animation, how the land masses are not reflective: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2Z8ypK-I-U
