easy tutorial for beginner

Hi all,
just starting out with animations and blender and need an easy tutorial to help me get started. I have seen the arm tutorial from BlenderChar website and its a little over my head right now. I have also seen the gingerbread man one on blender3d.com and I’m having a rough time with that one also…Is there another one out there that is really simple ???

Thanks for your help

Don

Try doing some animation with solid blocks at first, It will get you to understand the keystrokes and the relationship to IPO curves. Armatures can be a little troublesome. The hand armature is very difficult to understand, with IK solvers etc. Also download the manual, and print a few pages out. I made very slow progress when just reading the manual off the screen and then switching to blender. Learned quite quickly after I bought the manual but still get caught out with a few obvious things (Just look at my postings here for proof!)

Here is a tutorial which covers many Blender functions and starts assuming that you know nothing at all. It gives you all of the keyboard shortcuts in written form as the video tutorial proceeds:

Hi donroutman,

Here’s a tutorial showing how to make a cube rotate and move up and down.
