hello everyone
in this work I’m try to reproduce the beauty of a african girl
every thing using blender in 3d side and gimp to texturing
and using blender internal render.
it’s not a bad start, but the reflection on the eyes and the spec on the skin make it look like a barbie toy.
Mathias.
Looks good! I agree with mathiasA though on the skin and eyes. Here is a short tutorial on getting a good reflection in an iris.
The skin is pretty good, except I think you need a spec map to break up the shininess so it more imitates the actual areas that are oily, and then it might be more believable. The cornea specular is too soft and spread out, where it might benefit from turning up the hardness to get a tighter smaller highlight.
Yes I now the spec was a pain to achieve and the mirror I didn’t get this right.
But when I searching in the web I saw a tutorial on the blendercookie.com
that teach about mixing cycles and blender internal, mading specs and mirror on cycles and hair and sss on blender internal.
I will try this on next, but I never use cycles properly yet.
@ibiworlds thanks this is a wonderful little trick. is almost the same principle of the tutorial from blendercookie.com.
@Craig Jones I’m using a spec map but isn’t working in the way I expected. I think that I need to limitade where specs shows blocking it more where I don’t want specs to apear and I will take a look on the eyes.
