I am not very experienced with Blender, but this is probably one of the best “completed” renders I’ve done so far. Ha! I am getting better. <.<
I tried something like that once. Next time, try a denser starfield and put some procedurals on your planet.
Right now the globe looks like a black ball.
I understand it’s opposite lighting but usually a planet reveals a bit more of its texture.
Create your starfield with photoshop or gimp instead of the built in stars.
Unless you can do something like this.
And a tut for planets in Blender.
