Edge loop select seems to have multiple options but only one works - how come?

Just bought a new iMac - trying to work out how to use the Magic Mouse with it. So far everything works fine - albeit slightly different to the way I was used to.

Couldn’t work out how to perform edge loop select and checked out the preferences in the key map settings.

I’m presented with all these options to achieve that and wondered if that is normal? Only double clicking on an edge loop seems to work - just wondering what the implications are for having all these options?

if you open each one, what do you have? for example select loop or add another loop will be 2 different shortcuts for Loop Select (in my case alt right click and shift alt right click)
