How do you control the thickness of the toon shade lines (edge settings) so that if you change the pixel size of your render they don’t stay teh same size and in effect seem thinner?
Example: 1000X1000 lines are fairly thick.
Go up to 8000X8000 (which I do for certain purposes) and lines go thin.
Anyone know how to solve this>?
In scene settings [F10] on the Output panel are the buttons for Edge(s). Click on Edge settings and you can adjust thicknes and color. Settings are global so they affect all edges. The description of your workflow above is actually one of the best tricks for achieving razor thin edges.
That would be right next to the button you click to turn edges on.
Is that the same as edge intensity?
That is, as far as I know, the only setting available for controlling edges. The panel allows to set the width and the color. There really is no dedicated intensity setting; you have to adjust the colors manually at the global level.
There’s also a way to use Ramps, but it’s tricky. By adjusting the sliders for the Col setting on the Ramps panel in Materials [F6] you can simulate edges on a per material basis. That is a tricky process and requires a delicate touch but if the scene is a still can give nice results. You’ll have to experiment to get it right.
