Edge slide/Loopcut with precised distance placement

I am wondering if there is an addon or there is a way to do this in Blender. I am surprised you can’t edge slide with entering specific distance using measurement units in the settings, This is something that has been requested since 2018:

or is this hidden somewhere where u can change the edge slide or loop cut factor to measurement units

Nothing changed.
Modeling operators have not been refactored to handle scene units, where they are using factors.
