Edit mode lost all overlay for mesh wireframes and background images

This is before the overlay disappeared:

This is suddenly happen after added the ear:

This is the file before it happened:
20221225_head_0003.blend (924.0 KB)

This is the file with overlay of mesh wifreframe and images problem:
20221225_head_0004.blend (913.1 KB)

Can anybody tell me what is going wrong?
