Edit preset text

I’m a newbie to blender and still learning the program. I just downloaded a preset from blendswap.com which includes text and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to edit the text to say what I want in to say. How in the world do I do this?

If the text is created with a Text object, then just press the TAB-key to edit the text.

Tried that, all I got was a dotted yellow line above the text and no cursor.
