in blender 4.0 like there was in 2,79b it was a free add on .

Do you mean the add-on that had balls for the settings sliders along the 3d motion path?
Its not really needed. If you have a pose library open in the side pane of the 3d window you can click drag on the pose icon to adjust its effect. That is basically the same as what that old addon did.
Yes - it was one of the best add-ons ever. That functionality should be built in. The way it allowed animation tweaking in full screen was fantastic.

Someone is trying to keep it alive.
The addon isn’t just alive, it has more features than the old 2.79 addon (which also still gets included in master for some reason despite not working), besides the working part. The old addon could only be used for objects. This version can be used for anything, but there’s some decently big caveats with the depsgraph that you can read about there, don’t expect miracles.
Among other features, like colors, or spines for rotation…
I shall be having a good look sometime. Going through the horror of tidying up my Blender folders and making old stuff into assets ATM. Only been at it for a week.
