Editable Motion Trails 3D

I’m using it in Blender 3.6 and I haven’t had any issue like that.

So you just click-select the handles in the viewport? Did you do some initial setup of the addon?

Not that I can recall. Do you have your keyframes set to align, vector or free handles? Be mindful that if you don’t you won’t be able to move the viewport handles.

Yes, I have them all on align. This is how my viewport and setting are looking currently. As you can see, no handles to be seen, only the points.

Edit: Nevermind, find the issue, the handles as shown as Extras which I had hidden.

This works well in 3.6? Have you had an issues/bugs with it so far? If so have you been able to find workarounds for them?

I don’t use it daily, but I was using last month for a work project and the only “issue” so far has been when editing the time handles that they move in the opposite direction from where I drag them. But nothing else that I can remember right now.

Oh, right! You have to “rebuild” the editable trail when you reopen a file. That’s a bit annoying, but it only happens when reopening a file.

That’s not too bad, the pros definitely outweigh those cons. Hmm maybe I’ll just bite the bullet and try it out.

It is a decent addon, definitely helped me a lot when working on animating arcs. But it has its limits and there are issues sometimes, few times it crashed my Blender, so better to save your progress before you start working on the arcs.
But yeah, just wished someone would finally made this to be a native Blender feature. I am hoping the new animation rework will deliver this, because this is one of the essential animation features and it is a shame Blender doesn’t have it.

Does anyone know how to get the addon to work on blender 4?

Update: 05/02/24: Free

Due to a lack of updates and support for current Blender versions, the older addon versions that work for Blender 2.81 up to Blender 2.9 are now free (as of this description update, there is only one available addon version). In the future, if I add support for Blender 3.6 up to Blender 4 versions, they will likely require a new purchase even if you have bought the, now free, Blender 2.81 up to Blender 2.9 versions. I’m sorry for the lack of updates but this addon is a financial failure and does not support my … living.

If you’ve purchased the product in the last 30 days, contact BlenderMarket for a refund: https://support.blendermarket.com/article/22-refund-policy

Addon dosent work for new versions, but seems like Math is okay and
I updated gpu API of Motiontrail3D addon for new Blender 4.1 version.

The old problems still here, but the basic work of the addon has been saved. Only changes UI lines cant draw above the objects.
