Eevee: render shadow of an object, without the object

Hi,

Using Eevee, I created a scene with a cube casting a shadow on a plane. The issue is that I want to place the camera in such an angle that the cube if in front of the camera and I don’t want it in the render. I just want its shadow and the plane.

The next step is to export the render of that plane and use it in Gimp to avoid drawing 3d geometries in there (that is for the full context).

How can I do that?

  • Select Cube
  • Material Properties > Settings > Blend Mode > Alpha Clip
  • Set Alpha = 0
