Hello to everyone
I’ve never used the UE4 or the blender before.I’m using Modo now and have a full connection to UE4.I’m thinking of moving to Blender soon.I’m curious about something;
If we compare EEVEE and UE4 for rendering and animation scenes, which one gives better quality results?
The main purpose; If we think of it as a modeled city or house.
Can the EEVEE be able to compete with the UE4 on high-quality and large scenes?
UE4 has seen a lot more man hours put to rendering tech. compared to Eevee, but Eevee gives you the advantage of having an advanced realtime renderer right in the DCC app.
With Unreal 4, you have to import everything you want in your animation and then re-import whenever a change is needed. I would also not forget that Unreal is an absolutely massive package as far as file-size goes and has a reputation for being heavy on hardware (which even includes the launcher).

Thank you for your answer.
I’m on a scene at Modo 24 gb ram is not enough,The program crashes while getting render.
I plan on making my rams 32GB later.I’ve been planning to render UE4 for the big projects I’ve planned, but it Blender attracts me at the point of EEVEE.
So Ram usage (I ask for not using UE4)Are there major differences between Blender and UE4?
All I know about UE4 is from reading their community forums, and there you have a lot of people talk about how you need a really good PC to run it and how much computing power it takes.
Otherwise, I can’t say for sure whether Unreal or Eevee is the better choice except that Eevee doesn’t come with a massive set of tools specific to making games.
Blender has a Proxy system that lets you reference objects/scenes to work with and now with 2.8 a new and improved system with static and dynamic overrides that gives you more power than the previous one, i don’t know about UE4 system but it’s very demanding since it’ a full fledged game engine while EEVEE just got started and not even in it’s final form…and i think it all depends on how you setup your scene with shaders…etc
the cool part though is both are free and you can test it and see for yourself.

Most recently I’m thinking of testing,
But to test and judgment, you should have at least an intermediate level of knowledge about the program being used.My goal is not to make a game right now.Quickly see a quality output and the effects I’ve made, and get a scene and animation render. And perhaps a city to design.

Hi.
Maybe you could talk more about the kind of work you do in Modo, and in what kind of work you intend to work with in Eevee or ue4. And maybe also showing some of the work you’ve already done. That way, people may be able to give you better advice.
Right now quality wise UE4 wins, simply because of the fact that it is a matured product that has seen 20 version update since it was released. There is a lot of functionality available.
The visual quality of Eevee is slightly behind in some areas. I found the worst offender are shadows and reflections.
But it really depends on the scene. In some scenarios Eevee might have an advantage due to it being inside Blender.
In some scenarios the difference will not matter etc…
I found Eevee very helpful to visualize how things would look like in UE4 or an Raytracer Rendering.

Thank you for your answer
I’ve looked at almost all videos and upcoming innovations about Blender EEVEE.The main reason I asked these questions here is that they attract me: D
I like to think long-term.
The reason I started the Modo program was that it was particularly customizable and was the number one in HardSurface. But as far as I can see, the program has stopped development and has slowed down so much, it has problems in Animation and Rig issues, I don’t know how Prorender will come in the future.
Blender is a fast developing program. And I loved watching your education,HeavyPoly even passed the blender and apparently the blender works more compact and faster than modo. Not used much in the sector in the same way as Modo The Buddha emphasizes that it should be used in freelance and concept designs.
Modo is very fast and has nice tool and my first love so I’m not leaving, but I’m investigating the developing world. Now the blender is missing, what I see is Unreal Bridge,UE4 bridge feature though, I immediately go to the blender The ability to see the effects of the program instantly I think it will increase the design skills.
In the meantime, the structure of the scenes I want to briefly;Create your own world, this may be a medieval-themed city or a deserted hut or a space base in the jungle, Of course they are full of internal scenes;)

The Ue4 is a very powerful engine and cannot be underestimated.Blender will show the end of the development stage further. But it looks exciting
I would say learn and use all of it. Modo + Blender, UE4 and Eevee. Its a great combination.
Always search, find and choose the best and efficient way, increase productivity and creativity.
Best future proof plan you can have.

Strongly agree;) The only problem life is short And need Money
i get your point, if you are looking for something like in this demo then it’s possible to do and in the hand of talented artist, it will even go beyond this…good luck with your learning

Thank you.
Compared to those in my mind remains too linear, but a good example of what can be done;)
U can check out more awesome videos by this guy on his channel.
I am not sure if eevee can handle very large scenes like ue4. Also Epic games are currently working on a new lighting solution for UE4 hopefully no lightmaps would be needed.
how is it linear? also you should understand that EEVEE is not meant to replace unreal or unity but to give the Artists the power to visualize their work easily inside blender’s view-port without having to re-setup their scenes and shaders…etc in an external engine and import/export files… thus having multiple softwares opened which results in slow downs.
it works also with the ray-tracer so switching from modeling mode to look-dev to real-time PBR to ray-tracing is seamless and offers quick workflow, so you shouldn’t make a 1 to 1 comparison.

I mentioned a bit above.
EEVEE In the start-up phase and the UE4 is a great engine. I just wonder what can be done.
I mean linear;Weather conditions, wind effects, animation rate in an unchanging structure…

Many of Eevee videos that you can see have been made with Blender in an alpha or pre alpha state, many features related to animation in Blender were not possible.
Anyway, in “versus” comparison, Eevee will surely lose in many aspects compared to mature engines. It is something that even has not yet been released. You can see what it is possible to do with it for now in the current state, which is great and very promising. First step is going to be it being a stable realtime PBR engine to preview your work in Blender. Then when it is released, new features and improvements and stability designed for animation will surely come.
