Mini electric board of some sort with some components mounted on it. Rendered with soft shadows and AO.
Looks pretty good to me. You should make larger board, and it will look great with a ton of little parts, and you could texture it pretty easily with just some simple materials, perhaps some led lights too.
The thing that bugs me most is the size of the components. Theyre way too big compared to the actual board.
The size of the components depends on the mood he’s trying to create. If he wants a more serious, accurate scene, the components will need to be smaller. If he wants a cartoony, casual look, I think the large size helps with that. Just my $0.02.
Materials added.
To answer some questions: The electric board was supposed to be small and compact to fit in to a clock, but then it turned out to be a bit big. So now it’s a controller of some sort (note the connectors on the right back)
Nice work =)
A note about the black chip: usually chips have some white small writing on them to describe their pupose - try adding it using a texture of some text.
Also, I can’t understand what is the three holed thing on the right - I saw many electrical boards yet I can’t remember seeing something which looks like this…
~Lightning
added textures for the cylinder and the micro controller. And some wires
Lightning: It’s a three terminal capacitor
Lightning: It’s a three terminal capacitor
Now with the wires I recognize it - looks better.
The textures added a lot - not it looks really good!
