Hi, all!
I’ve remade my animation that had been made tow years ago when I’d not yet joined elYsiun.
I’ve got many things from here, elysiun. And tried to put those to good account.
I always appreciate your crits and comments.
Let’s rock! Enjoy it.

very nice. how did you make the curly hair? is that a cluster of spheres with an alpha texture maybe?

Thank you for your comment, Modron.
The curly haire is a uneven bowl.

Here is a screen shot.

ok.
the basic poses are there. but there is one signifficant thing you are missing… it’s the same thing you had on the dancing girl animations… it’s the stiffness. and reason for that is because you dont do “secondary motions”.

for example, in the end part where she bounces up and down. if a person would do that, I think she would shake head too. and not on complete sync with the body, but you know, when body starts going down the head comes down slightly after that… that is secondary motion.

same thing when she twists her body… the motions should be a bit different for head. that is important to make it look natural.

here’s a little something I put together:

it’s exaggerated ofcuorse, but just to demonstrate what I’m trying to say  heh…

p.s. why she opens her mouth all the time?

Wow, I’ve been waiting for this kind of crit. I’m very very happy, basse! I sincerely appreciate your kindness.
I myself had been wondering why my animation has always some stiff parts, without seeing the logical reason. In this animation, I’ve concentrated on the timing and tempo and paied no attention to the point that you mention here. I may be able to break through…Thank you very much.

p.s. She may be muttering about my manipulation.

I’ve found out the method to realize the Secondmotions without tweaking the
IPO curves one by one. And the method is versatile, I think.
In this rerendered animation, the bones that controll head and chest are
swinging and twisting with a constant delay compared to the bone controlling
the hip.
Did you notice the differnce between the first one and the second ?
As to say…my wife did’nt notice that. Hehe.
Thank you for watching.

Added Secondmotions version is here.
