elfe dance

Here are some low poly test models Be , Ge and Te

I have been working with motion capture BVH import and export.
The low poly models were built around the armature.

Five basic parts were required to complete this work.

  1. armature bvh file
  2. mesh cubes
  3. sound track
  4. titles and credits
  5. Blender 2.60a running on ubuntu 10.10

The armature bvh file came from
http://centralsource.com thanks Michael

The mesh cube was done by Quaz. Later Quaz replaced the
model with Thal’ope ( a female model ) supplied by blenderswap.

The sound track by William T, Lavoie from cbc radio 3

Titles and credits by Quaz

All done with " Blender 2.60a "

Thanks to all who contributed to this project.

The name of the video is " elfe dance "

comments welcome

It seems really slow – did you time it correctly? It may have been recorded at 30 fps but you played it at 24?

daren I wanted a slow dream like dance . I rendered the video in 5 , 10 , 15 , 24 and 30 frames per second using gl render. The final

video used " open shot and pitivi video editors on linux " . I went with the 15 fps. Quaz

The problem with retiming is that you lose the realism – the weight distribution and momentum of the body is off kilter a little bit -

nice, but the stretching of the body just seemed creepy to me. (this comment coming from someone that can’t organic model their way out of a paper bag…)

daren what I did with this video is all experimental and your point is well taken.
There was a 100,s lot’s of files and I had to go with one of them.

place57 thanks. The armature used 19 bones and I had to squeeze Thal’ope.
I read about corrective bones and weight painting. I also could tweak the mesh.
What you see worked with minimal mesh adjustments. Quaz

Quaz,

I watched your animated production on Youtube. Fine work. Joe1

Joe1 thanks for watching. I am on to motion capture using .asf armatures and .amc mocap
from the Carnegle Mellon University.

There is a new addon ( Acclaim Skeleton File .asf ) and ( Acclaim Motion Capture .acm ) import and export .

These files are free to use and modify but not for resale. Quaz
