hey everybody, I have been idle for a while in blender and I decided to post my elite in the WIP up here, since I guess it is finished now. Blender Internal (not much surprise) and alot (!!!) of polys
i suggest u bulk them up a little and give the closer one the top of his head… (the inside of teir helmet actually contains a head)
also the background is distracting
other than that its good
ya, legs are too skinny and the head is too small
what type of background should I make? the elite on the left doesnt have a helmet which is probably why his head looks small and the one on the right I think his head is too big. I agree with you guys tho, these are wimpy elites.
You could make the background something that would contrast the elites, so you could see them better. As it is now, it’s kind of difficult to make them out.
yeh enviroment needs a differant color, and is too specular. but i like the actuall charcters, even though there wimps…
should I turn it into an olive green? It is supposed to be a flood (if you dont play halo, don’t even try to guess wat a flood is) level so that could work, like flood blood
that, or glowing orange from a hunter would be even better
The bumpy look of their skin is waaaaaaaaay too pronounced
I like the way the characters look. I was trying to improve of of halo 2 and I think I textured the skin pretty well in my opinion. My problem with the picture is the background (I updated it, they are now buffed up and there is some hunter goop everywhere)
Hey there,
Nice start so far. However, Blender has a lot more potential that you are not tapping into. Indeed, reduce the NOR values on the materials, but also play with other settings to avoid a plastic appearance. Work on the lighting, using a few Area lights and activating ambient occlusion. Add some subtle ray reflections to things like the blade or their armor pieces, perhaps with a noise texture to give it a dull look…Elites don’t wear bling bling lol.
Good luck!
