she looks real good… she gives me this feeling that shes part horse though… lol, i think its cause her whole upper torso is way in front of her legs… shes gonna tip over
yeah - I know that
It’s because that she was posed like this way on the refference pics. When I’ll finish the modelling I’m gonna set limbs and torso into proper positions.
…by any chance, did u happen to use the “joan of arc” tutorial pics as your reference pictures?? i swear to god, ive never ever seen a worse bunch of f*cked up proportional blueprints…
I won’t agree with you blengine - Joan d’Arc tutorial is the best thing happened to me since the beginnig of my advanture with Blender. It’s made for 3dsMax, however with some experience you can use it to ane 3d program (maybe not for Wings). The refference pics are not that bad - the girl has just a small malfunction with her spine. I don’t know how to call it in english - I consider it would be like HyperLordosis
however the head modelling process, body modelling, the way it shows how to add details are perfect in this tute. Soon I’m gonna get through the skinning section to pose her proprely. And I say again - she is NOT standing on the floor right now - the refference pics shows the girl hanged in space. - However I’m making backups of every part of body on every stage of modelling so I can swiftly go back and fix some mistakes.
Blendermax- why I haven’t seen you on www.blender.pl lately huh?
it’s a challange beeing organized there, and this sweet girl is made for that challange. I tried to contact you by e-mail once…
out of curiousity, how did you construct her? With blender, or with wings boxmodeling or somesuch other software?
it’s 100% Blender - I thought that Wings is the best for chara modelling but I was wrong - Blender rules right now (ofcourse just untill I make some REALLY cool model in Wings)
It’s modelled her just like it was presented in this tute: http://www.3dtotal.com/ffa/tutorials/max/joanofarc/joanmenu.asp
I didn’t follow the refference perfectly - especially if you consider the head - some parts of it is my own design (ie. ears)
oh and about missing textures - I’ve just loaded yable, set up lights and stuff an clicked export button - this time I was too lazy to set up materials
and about equipment - sword will be fixed because it sucks ass - same with bow - it could use some details. Ofcourse she’s gonna have a quiver, but I don’t know where to put it - is there any kind of quiver mountet around the belt? because I also want to give her hooded cloak
well - I think that’s all for today - see you in the next episode of “Modelling elven archer” (I’ll have to think about some name for her)
the forums suck over there… i just like big, overfilled forums, not small, modest ones. if you find this difficult to comprehend, just think of a pair of tits and you’ll see for yourself.
sorry about the email, it got buried in my stuffed mailbox, and then i forgot…woops…
One more thing… allthough I can’t estimate the bow’s length from that angle, I think that a real bow should be a little bit bigger… At least what I think the proper length of the bow should be (if you hold it vertical…) same as the distance from ground to the shoulder of the model… But I don’t know… whatever you like…
I disagree. Bow with double curve, like this one, are usually a lot shorter since they need a lot more strenght to bend and will develop a lot more power than a standard single curve bow.
