Hi,
By default, you can’t render curve objects unless you enable “Round>Depth” in the Data Tab.
The problem is the viewport gets so heavy when this is enable. Is there an option to just enable this option at render time?
Like what Redshift, Octane and Arnold can do?
Regards,
Ben
These options will be removed in a future release, you can already use geometry nodes to convert curves to meshes and have further control over them (including viewport/render toggling)

That’s interesting. But geometry nodes still render it at viewport (i.e. real time).
I want to “render” it at render time. It’s too heavy for the viewport.

There is now an “is viewport” node for this, this will only render in final render, (not in viewport render preview)

Gotcha. Thanks! That I didn’t know
Geometry nodes are modifiers, you can disable them in viewports like any other modifier
