I think i have disabled the right or left mouse select how to enable it again.
Yes i know but the select does not work in blender 3.6.4 if you use the keymap blender 2.79
So i thought maybe i have accidently disabled it.
The preference settings looks good.
Ohh now i remember… this was also you…
…so…
Maybe the objects is non-selectable ?
Yes thats true i can select the object a jou showed in the outliner. But not in the 3d viewer anymore.
Keymap is blender 2.79
So you have those cursor arrow icon in there ?? In my example the Cube
is set to non-selectable ( click the Filter icon of the outliner and slete the Restriction Toggles )… so it is not selectable in the 3D viewport…
When I click on right mouse button nothing happens but I can select the object by the outliner is this a 3.6.4 bug
Downloaded and install 3.6.5 linux version but I have the same problem.
Only 3.4.1 is working for me with keymap 2.79
IDK… works fine for me on linux…
Also:
The images doesn’t show us anything about the maybe “dis-enabling” of the selectability of any object…
That is weird I do exactly the same.Only I cannot select the object with the right mouse
button.
Hmm… any other special tools installed ( maybe OS tools ) to make something “special”… (and then there is always resetto factory settings…)… and by the way : your right mouse button is not defunct ?? It works in general ?? ( Yes sometimes it’s just that simple… )
Yes my right mouse button works normal I have also not installed special tools.
How can I restore to factory settings
*Help → Manual → Configuring Blender → Defaults → https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/3.6/getting_started/configuration/defaults.html#loading-factory-settings
the manual has also a search option…
Is using the new keymap OK? Is the right click working if you do that?
Is using the 2.79 Keymap needed? The new keymap is far far better.
I have worked with blender since 2.4 and grew up with 2.79b setting i don t now the new blender. Only the right mouse is working i guess.
Probably the new settings are better.
But it takes more time to relearn.
Sorry i am no robot.
I have been using Blender longer than you. I always adapt to the changes. It took me about 2 weeks to learn the major keymaps changes for 2.8. It was worth the time.
More time than what? More than the amount of time you spend here being confused and asking questions about old keymaps that people can no longer answer?
Robots get updates and change immediately. It is a bad example.
I have switched to the new blender key-map i can now select with the left mouse
Changing to the right mouse does not work I have to set it to the left mouse
I do switch from time to time between 2.79 and some 3.xx versions ( for modeling i used to use even Wings3D ) and it’s just the “same” as for example switching betwen Gimp and Krita… or Vivaldi and Firefox… it’s just another app…
Good to hear.
I think you are right and i am now using the blender keymap setting. Especialy for animation.
Although for modelling I now sometimes use blender 2.79 keymap but my main goal is to also use the blender keymap before that.
