I’m new to Blender 2.59, and using a mac os. When I click “open” to load an image, it takes me to a file window to select my image. I click on “downloads” which is where images go on a mac automatically. When I select the image I want, I get an error message that says - “Error-can’t read image .jpg-No such file or directory” Now, I am totally lost on what to do next ! I have no idea on making a path. Can someone guide me through this ? Thanks
I think you try to open an image file with the file menu, this is not possible.
You could open images in the uv-image editor or in the textur slot.
Cheers, mib.
I click on - texture - image or movie - open - now what ?
I have a concrete texture that I downloaded, but it won’t load without the error message.
Can I move the texture to another directory ? What directory is Blender looking for ?
When I open uv-image editor, all there is, is my last rendered image !
I am so confused !
I am so confused !
Me too, try to set up the texture folder in the User Preference > File menu, but should work in textur slot too. Did you try another file, may a png file?

I am not on mac and don´t know the folder system very well.

Thanks mib - I’ll try this
GOT IT !!! For the mac, I have to uncheck “relative path” !
Thanks mib for the thumbnail icons button - much easier to see my textures !
