Really nice render Robertt.
Great lighting and the texturing is well done.

Quite an abstract work, but the concept is good, somehow. Not much to say apart from this, sorry for the lack of criticism.
I LOVE IT! That looks so great, me loves abstract!
Thanks BgDM, olivS, and Scorpy! This is from a series of “virtual sculptures” I am working on, some of which will be more abstract than others, so I thoroughly appreciate your feedback. This kind of work helps keep the more technical modelling in balance and remind that something more artistic/abstract can be as or even more difficult to achieve.

very artistic. I love the textures.
I like your render very much, Robertt.
OldLink.
I really, really like this - a simple idea, executed very well.
The only thing that is a bit disappointing is the type at the bottom. The shadow effect is so garish that it really takes away from the quietness and simplicity. It’s quite visually jarring to me and breaks the beautiful solitude of the image, which should be the main point of focus. Not to mention it’s a different font to your credits line (which also is a bit disturbing to the image), which makes it look cluttered. I’d suggest to use a font that’s simple and clean, and give it much more spacing above and below it, maybe even adding black bars to the top and bottom of the image and putting the title in there.
Cheers
nice but to me not very abstract…
but then i guess you have to have had a simaler exeriance to relate to it?
or am i reading it all wrong…
anyway love it!
@ner, OldLink, broken, and steve343 – thank you all very much
steve343: I didn’t offer this as de facto abstract, but some may take it as such given the title/concept. See my new post (the second sculpture in this series) “maternal instinct” for something that might qualify as more abstract.
broken: I’m using the new ray lamps which, even at their softest setting and highest sample rates seem to, at least in this setup, not be generating very soft shadows. I will continue to work on the lighting and see how I can improve on that. In my second post (“maternal instinct”) I use a hopefully cleaner font with less specularity.
Thanks everyone for the awesome feedback!
Back to blending…

Cool!
