definition excellence render: An excellence render is a render with minimal yet optimal output. It’s often used in advertisements.
it’s been some time since I last posted, so to make it up I’m gonna work open source (on every step)
I just quickly modelled a tablet and created a (IMO) rather complex lighting rig. I didn’t care much for vertex count, so sorry if it takes long to render.
The goal is to create a very stylistic yet photorealistic animation where a hand holding the stylus draws things on the surface of the tablet (probably similar to lightpainting : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-ow6VXYr50 ).
Obviously this is quite a big project and since I’m doing it as a side project only, I’m not sure how long it’ll take. But oh well, now that I started I’ll just see how long it’ll take
Next goal is the sculpting of the hand. That’ll take a week maybe, then another week for the rig and morphs, and then all that’s left is the lighting (which will have to be updated for the hand).
The actual drawing will take hours only. I’ll just use a boolean to reveal the strokes, which will be a bunch of bevelled splines with different ramp mats.
For the souce files licenses, if whatever you create has credits, credit me. If it doesn’t then don’t (this basically means you are not allowed to say the tablet was made by you)
