Hi there,
I am quite shure that there is a simple solution for my problem, but unfortunately I am unable to find it
I have a complicated sceene with a lot of nested objects.
lets say we have 3 materials in the sceene, named: old, new, neutral
some objects have old, some new and some have neutral assigned.
I want to exchange old with new without the need of finding the old objects and without assigning new to the neutral objects.
I found a skript called Material works, but unfortunately it is old and therefor not working anymore.
thanks a lot

Hi
Blender have a shortcut for that it is…Ctrl - L = Make Link
Selet a object you want to change Materiale on…Right click the object you want the Materiale from.
Ctrl - L Select Materiale…Done…
Work for modifier too.

Thanks a lot for your reply. but that is the reason I said it is a complicated scene, and I have to change many materials on a lot of different objects. I don’t want to search and select the objects every time. That would take ages
thanks anyway

Sorry…I did not understand your question correctly or misunderstood it.
You can use the Shift L - Shortcut = Select Linked…
Select object…Shift L - Select Materiale then select object with new Materiale and Ctrl - L Select Materiale.
Cheers and Happy Christmas…Puff Puff
