Exclude texture from simplify texture size limit

Hello,

I have a scene with a lot of various objects, and those objects have 4k textures. The issue is my VRAM is limited and most of those objects are small, so when i set simplify to 512 limit, it makes no visible difference in the render while saving a ton of VRAM.
The issue is I have two objects with two textures where limiting the to 512 makes them look terrible on the render since they are close to the camera, so I would like to figure out a way to make blender’s simply ignore those two textures somehow and keep them at their original 4k size.

What you’re looking for is a game engine feature that doesn’t currently exist in Blender. You’ll need to manually change all the textures except those two to a 512px variant (as in, reduce the size of the textures in an image editor)

there are some converters which can do a batch resizing… with a bit more GUI (be sure to backup or move the original files to another place !!).
