.exe versus .app

When you make a game on Windows, it’s easy cuz’ Windows applications are in a .exe format, so you can save runtime on Windows. Now jump to mac. Blender automattically saves runtimes as .exe but on mac we need .app! Is there a way to work around this?

I am on 4.26 and it saves as an .app… it did the same with the past version.

4.26? 2.50 hasn’t even come yet! :wink: I know. 2.46. But does it? Oh. Does it automatically do that? Or do you have to type .app?

Type .app or change the extension to see what happens.

It’s auto saves… It never saved as a exe xD

NOOOOOOO! (well that’s how it was…in 2.45) I’ve never saved as runtime in .46 before:confused:

I’ve used blender on mac since 2.36… believe me it’s always been .app

Unless you installed the mac .exe script that allows you to save multi-platform runtimes. Just look for a drop-down that says type
