Experiment with light and shadows

First I had just an image of a spider web which I threw on the glass using cloth simulation, but I noticed that it either had a full shadow covering everything under the “blanket” or no shadow at all.

Now the spider web is modeled (still a flat model + cloth simulation), but I need to figure out how I can create a better material for it. It should look thinner and more “furry”. I tried a mix of voronoi and volume scatter, but no luck so far.

Now the spider web is more subtle and it’s not torn at the top of the glass.

Adding some stuff to the scene. Not sure if I like the grainy look of the volume scatter or not, but I guess I have to keep it or I lose the god rays.
