Experiments in audio creation

I’ve been doing some experiments lately, importing different kinds of images into a sound editor.
As most sounds basically are made from a bunch of repeating waves, photos aren’t usually the best to try this with, but I figured I could use Blender to create some procedural textures to import as audio.
So far, I came up with two sounds.
The first is a Woodband texture, made tileable in GIMP. The method how I imported it can be found here and the audio result is this.
The second is more interesting. I created a tube in Blender, applied a Wood texture, mapped to Global, deformed the tube quite a bit and baked the texture. How the object looks in 3D space and how the texture looks (after minor editing for easier audio importing) can be seen here and the sound this produced can be found by following this very link.
