Explosion Render looking nothing like in object mode?

Why does my explosion look different and absolutely horrible when rendered? this is my 2nd attempt at a mini nuclear explosion to get the hang of it then a large scale version meant for a project I am working on.

Object Mode:


Try to only scale the domain object in edit mode …

I had the same thing… it took me weeks to find a solution.
You have to only scale it in object mode since this smoke sim uses the transformations of the object (not the mesh in edit mode)
It’s all very confusing and pointless, but basically your solution is to do all the scaling, rotating and moving in object mode, otherwise you will get these weird problems
