Export to animated GIF from Blender 2.49b?

From a complete newbie, I would like to create an animation in Blender 2.49b (Windows 7, 32 bit installation) of the the earth spinning in space, export to an animated GIF, and then embed in an HTML page on the internet.

Is this possible?

Thank you.

You’ll have to render as an image sequence (jpg, png its up to you) and create an animated gif in another program.

Thank you.

Do you think Blender is a good way to go for this application?

You can create an animated spinning earth in blender. Add a sphere, add a texture of the earth (plenty of them with a google search), keyframe it rotating, render as an image sequence, job done.

Thanks again. Greatly appreciated.
