Hi all blender artists out there! I’ve been trying to find this answer in other threads but haven’t been able to. I’m new to blender artists so this might be in the wrong forum. If it is I’m sorry and please direct me to the right one!
The problem I have is that I want to export a project in blender as a .wso file. This is to be able to create content for Sims 3 without having to use milkshape 3D aswell, just to convert an .obj file to .wso file. I’ve seen a few sites with people working on a script to make in possible to import and export .wso in blender, but I haven’t found the actual script. Can someone help me? Either by showing me where I can get the script or give me tips on how to maybe do one myself? Thanks in advance!
Hi, Laurelisse!
I’m beginner in “The Sims 3” modding too
- If i want only edit mesh, i’m export in “Milkshape” obj-file and save as ms3d-file.
- Then i’m import ms3d-file in “Blender”. Edit mesh. Not weights.
- Export mesh back in ms3d-file.
- Open it in “Milk”. Regroup and rename group in “group_base” and export in wso-file.
- Use “Mesh Tool Kit” for bring back in “wso” bones and morphology “thin-fit-fat”.
- Change mesh with wso-file in “TSR Workshop”.
That’s all!

But if you want edit weight in mesh, there you need import wso-file in “Blender” directly. But there is no way to find “wso import-export addon” for “Blender”. I’m try to find, but …
Right now i need to edit mesh weight for “Sims 3” clothes. And i’m work to find the way, how i can do it. If i’m find it, i’m tell you. Promice!
