I just thought I’d share a little story of success with you.
For a long time I’ve been trying to export 3D curves from SolidWorks into Blender and today I cracked the nut:
Convert the 3D curve i SolidWorks to a Spline using the “Fit Spline” command
Save as STEP AP203, checking the “Wireframe”, “Export 3D Sketch Entities” and “Export 3D Curve features”-options.
Import the STEP file into AutoCAD.
Export from AutoCAD as a DXF-file
In Blender enable the add-on “Import AutoCAD DXF-format”
Import the DXF file into Blender.
A little cleaning up remains in Blender.
My curve came with some sort of frames around the it, but they were easily deleted.
