exporting from blender to gmax?

Hello, I am trying to make a model for dungeon siege but I prefer to model and texture in Blender. I am trying to find a way to export from Blender in such a way that I can open the model in Gmax with its texture intact. Unfortunately, if I try to export as .3ds, I get a “file format not recognized” from Gmax. If I use DXF, it does not keep any texture information. I am assuming it is my model that is at fault, but I do not know what gmax “wants”. Can anyone help? I can upload the model if necessary. Thanks! Matt
