Exporting Hair to Max and Maya?

Hey Everyone,

I’m new to Blender, and I have an animal mesh I modeled in Max that I would like to add fur to. A few people have told me that Blender’s hair may be what I’m looking for.

I was wondering, how well does Blender do with importing and exporting FBX files? I also plan on having the mesh rigged, skinned and animated by a few friends who only use Max and Maya, so I also would like to know how well the fur in Blender exports to other programs.

Another question I have is how much control do you have over animating the hair?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! : )

It cannot import fbx files. There is a GSOC 1012 project to add an importer. It does export fbx files
