Exporting in Blender

I’ve been working with Blender for about 3 weeks now, and I’ve by far gotten used to (and I prefer) it’s modeling style. However, when it comes to animation, I am much more comfortable working with Alias Maya. It’s very obvious how to export objects and/or scenes (file - export) and the filetype that Maya would require is .obj (Wavefront Object). When I try to export it, however, Blender crashes. I am currently running Blender version 2.4 and have not yet downloaded the new version. Is there something I am doing wrong, or is this a bug?

Thank you,

-Juicy

crashes how?

windows?

have you installed python 2.4?

It crashes… it just, closes without any message.

Yes, I’m running it on windows. No, I haven’t installed Python 2.4.

I have used the obj exporter ALOT I have had no problems with it at all. In fact I even tried to make it crash after reading this post and could not. I am also using version 2.4, on Windows, without having Python installed.

Very odd. I think I’ll try reinstalling Blender - perhaps the download I got was corrupted? Thanks for the help though.

I have the same problem, when i try to export .obj Blender crashes (yes, the usual window appers) Im on XP sp2+Py 2.4+Blender 2.41. My system is working perfectly and its not happen with older versions (2.36 tested)
