Hello, that’s my first post.
I’ve got two short questions:
How can I export a liquid animation from blender to maya?
How can I export any animation from blender to maya?
thanks

Maybe you’ll get a real skilled Blender dev answer to this… My guess is that it won’t be possible. Codes of both apps are most probably much too different. It’s allready nice enough to be able to import/export .obj!
But maybe there is format wich blender can eexport with animation and maya can import with animation?
Personnaly, i haven’t used Maya for a few months and don’t have any appropriate file ready for a quick test.
It’s just my guess for having done few things in Maya. I might be wrong.
What ever you have done in Maya as .obj or .DXF can be imported, for sure, in Blender… But each app has got it’s hown archades what texturing, animating and physics are concerned… Sorry.
Some people here are regularly working with both apps, they’ll tell you better then i can.
One way to do it, is to export each frame of the animation as an .obj. This is difficult, but in a scrape, it will get the job done.
@Nathanael,
Could it be that, droping few frames, one could take… let’s say each next 4th or 5th frame and have the curves than extrapolate the inbetween gestures?
