Exporting materials(colors) into UV unwrapped .tga file

Hi.
I have added colors in a 3D model using Blender 2.49b in Ubuntu. I want to export to .obj file. I want to create an image to wrap this model and contain colors that I put on the model. How to achieve this ? I went through some tutorials, however I could only find how to UV unwrap. I could not find how to do this with colors. Please help. Thanks.

Hello
well, its quite easy ( if I understood well)!
After the “unwrap” done, create/add a new Image ( in the UV Editor “Image” menu"), then Ctrl-Alt-B keys and choose “Texture only” in the “Bake Selected meshes” menu.
Then save the “Image”!
Bye

Thanks for the reply. But Ctrl-Alt-B don’t seem to do anything. I m using blender 2.49b.

Thank you  Is it possible to do this other way round ? I mean, use the colors from image and use it as material on the model so that an external image wont be necessary?
