Exporting models made of Quads

Gday all.

I don’t know if this is the right place to post but, I have a model made up of quads i am planing on using in an external game engine. When i export my mesh it converts the Quads into Tris. Is there a way of avoiding the conversion? I am using the .x & .b3d exports & i have 434 faces in blender & 748 faces when exported & there is still more work to be done on the model (arms & a head.)

Any help would be apreciated.

All realtime formats and engines use tris and are optimised to use tris. The .b3d and .x formats will always use tris.

Some export formats do maintain quads (such as .obj) for transfer between modelling applications (it’s best practice to model in quads) but any realtime engine will convert these to tris internally.
