Exporting textures from blender (.obj) for 3ds max

:spin: Title says it all really. Trying to get the .obj export from Blender INCLUDING TEXTURE into 3DS Max. Using .dds for the texture.
It is an old question i imagine but can you point me in the right direction?
.DAE works ok but would like to know if it can be done via the .obj export.

Have your textures in the same folder as your blend and exported obj. If you don’t see the texture why not just apply it to your model in Max ?

Yes, i got the .dds in same folder as the .obj & .mtl…but 3DS doesn’t seem to see it. 3DS looks for .Mat and not .Mtl. I am trying different setting but time is against me. Thx for your quick reply

Does the mtl point to the dds file and have the correct name and file extension. Just tried using a bmp as the texture and max adds it to my model exported from blender

The only selections in the Material editor are .mat, .max, .chr and drf…could you tell me which folder you are exporting your model too and where the .bmp is stored? Message i get is “diffuse-map not found in materil:”
