Hello,
i want to know how to export material from blender to 3ds max.
i dont have troubles in exporting from 3ds max to blender most troubles happens from blender to 3ds max.
I found some plugins like better fbx exporter but i’m not sure about the resaults what do you guys think and how can i export scenes fully materialized.
usually the troubles are in 3D models, water or anything with translucency, vegetation.
Each 3D program has a completely different material system, with hundreds of nodes, and each program uses different renderers.
What that means is that it’s impossible to ever properly transfer materials between them. In fact, even if you had 2 specific apps in mind, it still would be very difficult to program an exporter, because there are hundreds of nodes that would need to be matched (and all their numbers, functions and color spaces would also have to somehow be matched). For that reason, 3D export formats simply don’t include material settings, or if they do, they use only very basic and often outdated settings.
You can have the correct material names applied to the correct objects, but that’s about it. You will always have to redo the material’s settings because of the very nature of different 3D apps.
Ok, thank you
