Hi, I am completely new to animating in Blender. Like absolutely first steps.
I was playing around with the Volume to Mesh Modifier to create a Low Poly Fire animation which worked really well, and I’m really happy with how it turned out.
Now I wanted to export this animation as an FBX to use it in Unity but for the life of me I can’t figure out how. Do I need to first convert everything to a mesh and then keyframe every frame of the animation with AnimAll?
I want to export the undulating and deforming mesh to be used in Unity. Can this be done?
It seems that Volume to Mesh generates the new topology each frame, which can not be represented by regular keyframes inside of *.fbx . You’ll have to export a bunch of meshes for all your frames, and then animate their visibility in Unity so only one is visible at the moment of time
Oh that is too bad. That’s a bit too overkill for my use case haha. I guess I could pick out a few interesting frames and shrinkwrap another mesh on top and then animate that one with shapekeys. Thanks for explaining this to me. Helped me a lot actually.
