Extrude and then Rotate ends up looking odd, kind of

Hey all!

I’m not sure if this has been asked before, I wasn’t sure what to search for but the keywords I used didn’t turn up anything. Sorry if this was something I could’ve easily found an answer to!

I’m trying to make a certain shape (like iron rails on the side of stairs) that ends up looking odd like this:

What I did was picking all 4 vertices, extruding and then rotating slightly down. In my head it worked, but the result was different. :stuck_out_tongue:

Is there an easier way to do this that I’ve overlooked? I mean this can probably be done better with manual precision work (snapping to the x/y of a nearby vertice maybe, somehow?)

Thanks in advance!

Spin tool http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.6/Manual/Modeling/Meshes/Editing/Duplicating/Spin
or Set the 3d curser at the the position you want as the centre of rotation, set the pivot point to be the 3d cursor (. period key) and Extrude / Rotate / Extrude / Rotate etc

Thank you! I shall give this a try!

I also see I posted this in the wrong forum. :o I had both modeling and texturing open and must have clicked “New Topic” on the wrong one, sorry!
