Extrude Individual - Issue

Hello

I am working on the start of the Hand Grenade tutorial from BlenderGuru. Using extrude individual for the faces of the mesh, they are extruding along the y axis forward and backward.

The desired effect is for the extrusion to run in line with each individual face, as in the tutorial.

Ah i see.

Press E to Extrude and then press Esc so it creates its own faces to Extrude individual from.

If thats not the problem you must have your Object rotated wrong, Did you start in the right view?

It was the Pivot Point Setting
