Eye Defect

Ok, every time I try to make a character, I manage to get everything right except for the part where the character binks.

So any one has any idea how to fix it?

How are you moving the eyelid?

I use bones from an armature rig that I created after looking at ward’s tutorial.

Anybody else has a remedy? I lost him on this one.

Ward is a great blender artists but anyway. In Google Search you may find better ways of rigging. But for me this was excellent and you may want to follow this tutorial

Just because the character on the tutorial has only one eye, doesn’t mean you cant duplicate the rig and use it for the opposite eye, you just need to tweak it a bit so they work together.

The mouth and eye you will learn are liquidly rigged and also they don’t come in contact or break whilst being moved.

Best of luck to you!

Well, I suppose I could try it. I’m out of options and I really don’t feel like starting over from scratch. I’ll let you know afterwards.

Come on you cant be lazy about it, no one will do it for you lol.

Check that the vertexes are parented or weight painted to the right bone (depending on how youve set it up) also check that no modifiers are messing it up.

Either that or just do it with shape keys, look for tutorials, its really not that hard.

But I’m stuck on the point where you are parenting the control points. Where do I parent the control points? Is it the look-at targets that I created or what?

Ok, so here’s what happened. I followed the tutorial to the letter as far as the eye part of concerned. After moving it, it still failed me! So after working on it since 10:00 AM, I took out the bones surrounding the eyelid and left the controller bones alone. After moving them, my problem was solved about 14 minutes ago. Now I have to work on my city.

Well done, ha ha it is a hard one -I got it in the end after watching the video like 3 times, also upload the new render of the closing eye lid just so we can see it, awesome keep it up! -if you feel lazy use Cuty Generator lol, but you might want to alter it a bit if you do

I actually used that script before but, it just didn’t have the feel that I was looking for. Also, I couldn’t get it to work right. The city that I’m making will be more interactive for the upcoming animation project that I’m (sigh) working on all by my lonesome. And besides, I think it would be beneficial if I learned how to make the city from the ground up.

Anyway, the images below shows you a character that I created that had the same problem.
