eyeball tracking

I have an eyeball I want to track to an empty to make moving the eyes easier during animation. I placed an empty out in front of the eyeball, selected the eye, selected the empty and pressed Control+T creating the Track To constraint. The eye now follows the empty but the eye itself is pointing straight upward. To correct this I went to the constraint panel and clicked on z to line the axis back correctly. Now the eyball doesn’t follow the empty. Any ideas?

play with the tracking constraints, theres got to be at least one combonation that will suit your purposes.
