Yes- for the start you did everything right- that mesh looks like a F5!
For the later texturing: Do you know the Patrouille Suisse? That would be great!!
Whats that? Planes? cool yeah, it’s funny i’m so obsessed with fighters, seeing as i hate the military and war so much… but the planes are so damn cool, and i love flying stuff so i guess that explains it
Anyway, haven’t been able to do very much today. I did the cockpit somewhat, but it still needs some work.
Ok, working slowly, I’ve been having some trouble with getting the mesh right, but I sorted that out. I put the jets on, fixed the cab (it was one piece, jets have 2 peice cabs slaps myself in the face duh, I should know that) and did the tail. Any C&C?
How so? it looked alright to me… Anyway, did a lot more work today, wings, tail fins and wingtip missles. These parts all need more small detail, but I think they’re pretty good right now. Any crits?
The air intake you made has an angulated wall. The wall is vertical, not diagonal.
The cokpit buble is too thin, it should be rounder.
And in the back, the botton of the plane is flat and the corners are 90 degress angle. It just get rounder wayyy in the back, but still not as round as the engine nozzle.
The airforce over here has lot’s of F5 and everytime I go to the air base here in my city I take pictures of them to use as reference, but I can’t find them now. If I find I’ll post them
I think I’ve nearly got all the mistakes on the plane fixed. Things I still need to do are, the indent on the intakes, fix the LERX, fill in the gap around the engines (and make all the area line up right), and get rid of that nasty seam on the nose. If anybody see more errors in the model, please tell me
The only question I have is whether the shape and thickness of the main wings and the tail stablizers are correct. IMO, the airfoil shape appears to be non-existent. In other words the wings and stablizers seem to flat and too thin…
Great work and incredible progress on this model!
i dunno i don’t think the f5e has much in the way of that, from what i know about it, jets of it’s type relied on mounting biggish jet engines on itty bitty planes
Alright, I think I’m done with the main modeling (the wings may still be a little flat but I think they’ll be alright). But I’d like any C&C if anybody sees anything. I started the cockpit interior, and I’m gonna work on more of the details soon.
I’m done with all the modeling I plan on doing (except maybe additional weapons). But I’m wondering how to texture this… Can anyone give me advice on how to unwrap and texture the plane, when its in several different peices. Heres a pic.
How do I do this so the texture (I want to do some camo) lines up with itself on all the parts. It hasn’t been working very well so far. Any help would be great
