how can i select faces that make a loop? kind of edge loop select but with faces

Switch to face select mode.
It doesnt work, because it select you the edges and not the faces
still in edit mode perhaps?
Switch to face mode, then Alt + RMB an edge between two faces in the loop you want to select.
He has to be in edit mode for loop select to work at all. Face select mode is when the faces have little squares in the middle of them. When you use Alt-RMB in face select mode a loop of faces is selected. You will only select edges in edge select mode or vertex select mode. It works.
Regardless of select mode ctrl-alt-rmb onan edge will select a face loop.
