I have started work on an image for this contest: http://www.siggraph.org/newsfeed/call-for-submissions-space-time-2007/
And this is what I have come up with so far:
Modeled and rendered in Blender, Post in Photoshop.
It is still a WIP certainly, please let me know what you think!

haha, whoa, coool image! Fun shader, though I see some lines on the elephants back…Maybe a bad shadow buffer?
ABout the shader. If your susing color ramps to achieve the fakey SSS, then maybe pull the light color closer to the drak, it gets a little too bunched up on the umbilicle(sp?) cord. Like, bad looking AA or something.
If you got it with nodes, pretty much the same fix.
Also(IMO) I think The pic would maybe feel a little better if you made the space more enclosed…its kind of big and open right now…
On another note, what is this contest exactly. I checked out the page, is there any theme? or an age limit? It dosnt look like it, but Im a little lost

Wow! you are that young? I started doing 3D when I was about 9. It’s great to see other young’ns doing good graphics!
