Faces with white pixels in it = active object?

Oh hi, I just have a short question…

If I select one face without any tools (like… the tool which appear if I press B, or the tool which appear if I press B 2 times…) so just with the right mouse button, I’m getting a selected face with tiny white pixels in it like this one:

But if I use a tool I don’t get those white pixels… what’s that? Is that the active face now? I watched tutorial videos and those white pixel faces never appeared in those videos :confused:

Basically, yes. Just like you have an active object when in Object mode, Blender also maintains an active face, edge, or vertex in Edit mode, depending on your selection mode.

and selection modes are border select, the brush thingy etc. right?

No, I mean selection modes like Vertex Select, Edge Select, and Face Select.

Ah oki, thanks for explaining buddy! :smiley:

Well… I forgot to ask 2 questions…

  1. Is it possible to deactivate that?

  2. Is there an irc channel about blender support? I think it’s better to ask such question there instead opening a thread ^^;

  1. I’m not sure; I don’t think so. However, I believe a setting for that would likely be in your Blender theme somewhere.

  2. Hit #blenderchat on freenode. It’s probably one of the most frequented Blender channels there.

Ah awesome, I found this channgel!

And again, thanks buddy
